Aimees Brother in Law to be, accepted to be the father figure, the survivors look up to him and he is also a protective leader like a father.
He even grew out his beard to look the part, as if he has been living the rough life since the apocalypse started. Audiences will only see him briefly in the trailer as the character is killed by the zombies, but we don't see him as one of the zombies, leaving a mystery for the audience.
