Research & Planning - Zombie Make-Up

Unfortunately this week I was unable to attend college due to personal reasons, but luckily I was still able to continue updating my blog and stay in contact with my group via internet.

In this blog post I have tried experimenting with Halloween make-up to create a realistic zombie look. For most of this I had to have assistance to help me apply the make-up as it wasn't easy and I couldn't look in the mirror because I looked scary.

WARNING!!! VERY SCARY IMAGES OF MYSELF ZOMBIFIED!!!

First I applied some very white foundation
Then I applied some deep green foundation
I Applied a deeper shade of green for shade
Added some black & grey shade for some tone
Then I added some pink blusher around my eyes

I realised that my eyes didn't really look zombified, so I added some dark shade to give me deep shadows
My least favourite bit, applying the fake blood...

Some of our zombies will have fake blood in different places, as if they have just turned
I applied the fake blood all over my mouth, as if I just attacked someone
I added some conditioner to my hair to make it look greasy and I also applied some fake blood to it
I also put fake blood on my glasses too, just to make it look more realistic.

Again I am sorry If these photos were terrifying, but if they were then me and my helper succeeded! :D

I couldn't make the eyes look zombified as contact lenses do cost some money, but while we film our trailer I don't think we will be seeing a lot of zombies up-close anyway. I will be making another blog post about changing the zombies eye colours for our future film posters and magazine covers.

  1. Wonderful posts Sarah - very scary indeed!!! I didn't know it was you at first! Keep this up - these are excellent. Don't forget now that you need to complete your film poster and film magazine analysis's so you can start drawing drafts for these too.

    A* grade blog!
